Meet Your Innkeepers
Robin and Marsha Shepherd have enjoyed Caribbean living for over 30 years. Their experience as captain and cook on their own charter yacht taught them how to be impeccable hosts while taking exquisite care of their guests.
The two spent many successful years building and managing high end villas on the Caribbean island of St Barths before selecting Vieques, Puerto Rico as their new home.
Robin and Marsha purchased a lovely seaside house in Esperanza. With a full year of tender care and major renovations, they transformed this traditional Vieques home into a brand new 13 room inn.
The Shepherds live on site with their dog Rocky, a loveable French Boxer. They have a daughter who is a Peace Corp volunteer in Niger, West Africa and a son who is a senior at University.

At the relaxed western end of the Malecón, set behind mature native trees and embraced by tropical surroundings, is the comfortably elegant Malecón House. A modern Inn of two stories and thirteen rooms, the Inn has a clear view of the quiet bay and perfect access to Esperanza and its namesake Malecón. Beaches, activities, shopping and nightlife are just steps away.
Guests at Malecón House can enjoy breakfast on the patio, or find a shady spot in the gardens with a cool drink and a book. A refreshing dip in the pool and sunbathing on the deck is a fine way to spend the afternoon. Sunsets from atop the roof deck are astounding.
